Cegid is a practice production suite, sold on quotation after a demo. Comptyx is a posting workstation you can try online the same day. They do not cover the same ground, and this page says which is which.
Two products, two scopes
Cegid Loop, Quadra and the rest of the suite cover practice production: bookkeeping, review, the tax pack, payroll, client collaboration, practice management. It is a complete system of record and a structural investment.
Comptyx covers one step: turning a document into a balanced entry, coded to the chart of the file's country, then exported in the format your software imports. It holds nothing definitive and does not replace a system of record.
The buying process, which is the real difference
Cegid publishes no price list. Pricing depends on the number of client files, the modules enabled and the type of organisation; it is built as a quotation, and integration fees come on top. The path runs through an adviser and a demo.
Comptyx publishes its prices and sells online: Solo at EUR 59 a month for 150 invoices, Cabinet at 149 for 500, Cabinet+ at 299 for 1,500. The trial covers 30 documents or 14 days, with no card and no meeting. You know the cost and the value before speaking to anyone.
We deliberately publish no price multiple between the two: with no public grid on the other side, such a figure would not be verifiable. The honest benchmark is elsewhere — manual data entry costs roughly EUR 1.15 per document, against EUR 0.20 to 0.39 with Comptyx depending on tier.
What Comptyx does better
Multi-country. Six national charts maintained as referentials — French PCG, Moroccan CGNC, German SKR, Spanish PGC, US GAAP, IFRS for the UAE — resolved per country and never translated from a single template. A French suite handles the PCG very well; it does not treat the CGNC as a native chart.
The output goes all the way to the entry, not to an extracted field. Ten native formats: FEC, DATEV EXTF, Sage, ContaPlus XDiario, SAF-T, QuickBooks, Xero, XLSX, CSV, PDF.
The balance check blocks. An entry that does not add up is held back and flagged before it can reach an export, never published in silence.
No migration. Comptyx sits in front of the tool you already run, Cegid included, and hands it a file.
What Comptyx does not do
No assisted review, no tax pack, no payroll, no practice management, no client portal, no invoicing or collections. Comptyx is not a French PDP.
No continuous bank feed: the bank journal starts from an uploaded statement, and only for Morocco, France, Spain and Germany.
If your need is to replace practice production, Cegid, Sage, ACD or Quadratus remain the right frame. Comptyx does not claim that place.
When the choice is easy
A wholly French firm that wants one production tool, with every client file living on the PCG, does not need Comptyx: its suite plus a capture tool is enough.
Comptyx earns its place when you leave the French chart — foreign subsidiaries, cross-border clients, expat-run SMEs — or when the monthly re-keying is the real bottleneck, whatever the production tool.

Does Comptyx replace Cegid?
No. Cegid covers full practice production — review, tax pack, payroll, collaboration. Comptyx covers posting and sits in front of it: you post, review, export, and Cegid stays the system of record.

Does Comptyx export to Cegid?
Comptyx produces a compliant FEC plus CSV and XLSX journal exports, which French production tools import. There is no dedicated API connector: the path is the file.
